Distraction Devices Instructor Recertification
Welcome to the Distraction Devices Instructor Recertification course. This course is solely for instructors who already have a valid instructor certificate in distraction devices (either from Dave Young in the last 60 months, or within the last 36 months from another manufacturer) and wish to renew their certification.
This course covers and addresses all distractions devices manufactured and used in the United States. Certification is recognized by both of the top manufactures - ALS Technologies (ALS) and Combined Tactical Systems (CTS). If the company you need is not listed on here call them directly!
This program was first copyrighted in 1990 and is one of the most widely used programs in the industry today. This on-line training programs was designed to provide "state of the art" distraction device munitions and for intervention options for using them. Any student utilizing this program should determine the tactics covered in this manual meets all federal and state guidelines. In addition, agency policies and procedures should be reviewed to ensure that this material does not unknowingly violate or contradict your agency's rules and regulations, even though this program has completed and passed a medical, legal and tactical soundness review.
This basic on line training program was developed as a "self-training" tool. The material contained within this text is a result of over 25 years of personal and professional research and development. The purpose of this text is to update and enhance the training, currently being instructed and to provide this training with current references and techniques that are compatible with the training received by military and civilian police officers.
