ATTENTION: Certified Instructors Of Vistelar’s Verbal Defense & Influence Conflict Management Curriculum

Don’t miss the insights and fun of this year’s premier conflict management networking event

8:00 AM Fri, Oct 19 to 5:00 PM Sat, Oct 20, 2018 — Milwaukee, WI

———————————————————-

As a certified Verbal Defense & Influence instructor you don’t want to miss out on the 2018 Beyond Conflict Conference, Vistelar’s bi-annual instructor re-certification training forum. Since the founding of Vistelar in 2009, this is our fourth of these conferences and we expect it to be the best ever.

Here are just a couple of the many comments we’ve heard from attendees of past conferences:

“I have been to every one of Vistelar’s Beyond Conflict Conferences and I’m not going to miss the one coming up in 2018. It’s always great to hear the stories of the impact VDI is having throughout the United States (and elsewhere) in a wide range of disciplines and to gain new insights into how to best teach the VDI material.”

— Joe Potterton, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia

“I really value getting updates about the latest enhancements to the VDI program. However, the main reason I’ll be coming to this year’s conference is to enjoy the fun interactions with Gary and Dave, the rest of the Vistelar team, and all of the other certified instructors who will be attending. I always go home with tons of valuable information nuggets and great stories to tell.”

— Michael Delvaux, Wisconsin Department of Corrections (retired)

This year we will be providing updates on everything we’ve learned over the last couple of years in our work across a wide variety of disciplines, such as law enforcement, healthcare, loss prevention, behavioral health, K-12 education, college campuses, private security, casinos, and more. For example, we will be discussing how to incorporate “trauma-informed care” into the VDI curriculum and the importance of teaching personal-protection tactics in every VDI class.

We will also be sharing the details of our many new partnerships (e.g., National Retail Federation, International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators, International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training) and what these partnerships mean to you as certified Vistelar instructors.

On Friday, we will provide these VDI updates, with lots of time built into the schedule where we can all learn from each other.

Then, on Saturday, we will be sharing advanced information — in two separate tracks led by Gary and Dave — on such topics as physical escort and stabilization, mental health applications, active shooter, home invasion and anti-child abduction. Each afternoon session will last about two hours and be highly interactive.

And, that’s just what’s happening during the training sessions.

In addition, each day we’ll have breakfast and lunch together and Friday night there’ll be more networking opportunities at our Conflict Management Awards Banquet. Then, if you’re staying over Saturday night and are up for it, we’ll all find something fun to do to take advantage of Milwaukee’s booming nightlife.

As always, the conference fee covers the cost of your annual 2018 instructor recertification and attending the conference resets the clock on your recertification.

This year's Beyond Conflict Conference is your opportunity to get up-to-date on everything new and learn best practices from other like-minded VDI instructors from a wide range of disciplines and geographies. We look forward to seeing you in Milwaukee on October 21st and 22nd.

We will share with you how to create a supportive atmosphere, communicate concern and give you the position of advantage when applying non-escalation and de-escalation tactics in situations that may compromise your safety. How to identify the basic indicators that will assist you in navigating communication and highlighting possible safety violations.
