“It is NOT IF an officer will be physically attacked it is WHEN that compromises their LIFE! The "SCAT™” Survival program was first developed by Dave Young in 1990 ORIGINALLY FOR Calibre Press and presented to officers from around the country. This Officer Survival Course will focus on increasing your ability in winning physical attacks and assaults when confronted with violent and dangerous subject(s). We will address the emotional strength, mental conditioning and physical skills needed to the fight both in the street and in the courtroom. You can add EVERYTHING in this class to your current training and was designed to fit within ALL of your use of force policies!

We will address the 5 most common dangerous threats facing law enforcement and corrections in today’s society. Last year was the highest officer recorded deaths to gun fights and physical assaults and not only affects your life but the other officers around you. The itinerary for this course will focus on how to tactics for winning a gun fight, counter ambush tactics, surviving knife attacks, ground encounters and multiple attacks and so much more.

Equipment Required: Bring all assigned Duty gear with holster and firearm NO AMMUNITION allowed.

This is a physical demanding class and for security professional only, uniformed or plain clothes armed or unarmed. Wear clothing and footwear for defensive tactics instruction, with whistle and lanyard. Duty belt with holster, training weapons, inert aerosols, body armor, impact weapon, protective equipment, groin protection and mouthpiece. Change of clothes recommended.

Dave Young is another Co-Founder of Vistelar with over 25 years of training and experience in corrections, law enforcement and is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

Cancellation Policy

If you are not able to attend, please notify us by email as soon as possible.

Cancellations more than seven (7) business days before the first day of this course will receive a refund of the amount paid minus a $150 administrative fee.

Cancellations between seven (7) and two (2) days of the first day of the course will receive a refund of the amount paid minus a $250 administrative fee.

No refund will be made for cancellations within two (2) days of the first day of the course.

Vistelar reserves the right to cancel this course if there are insufficient registrations and, if that occurs, a full refund of the amount paid will be made.

Please allow two weeks to process any refund.
