Consider this . . . 

1. Create a list of the times in your professional and personal life that you may have to take appropriate actions when the persuasion sequence may fail to “persuade” the person to do what you are asking them to do.

2. Create a list of times in your life when you or others may be in emotional and/or physical danger and you may be justified in taking immediate action to protect yourself or the other person.
